Guide to Winter Décor
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great and safe Christmas as 2020 was not an easy year plus a Christmas celebration without family and friends seems incomplete. But let’s hope and am positive to start this new year 2021 and its brings health and harmony to all.
Do you still have your Christmas Tree up, I have made a rule to put down my Christmas tree on January 1 each year. But this time it’s hard and I don’t want my house to feel empty and lifeless.
So to help with that, I’ve decided to give you all some tips on how to transition from Christmas to Winter decor. Here are some of my tips.
Looking for winter decorating tips after Christmas for empty surfaces like a fireplace, living room, console table, or entryways, but don’t know where to start? Check out my design tips to get your house looking like you hired a professional.
1. Get Organized
Take away all the Christmas decor and start with a clean slate, declutter your space.
2. Bring the Outdoors in
Wood logs, pine cones and branches are a wonderful way to incorporate the outdoors inside for a wintery vibe. Add branches on the mantel, pinecones and greens in a vase. Just examples of how you can use it.
3. Stay Neutral
Use a neutral colour palette as your winter decor theme. Think whites, and greys, this will help create an ambiance that resembles snow
4. Add Textures
Add lots and lots of textures. Using a neutral colour palette does not have to be boring. Adding textures like knits, wools, furs etc. create warmth to space. And it Fells good to touch. Below are the examples of mixing the textures in pillows.
5. Add Lights
Adding candles and Fragrances in the space gives a cozy feel. I love adding fragrance candles and nowadays you can use LED lights that can be added to a vase.
6. Add Art
Adding a winter-themed art. You can change the pictures in your frame themed to winter. Or if you love changing out altogether that of course your personal taste.
